ABOUT
Hi, I’m Lydia Martino and I’m a Graphic Designer. I have over five years of experience working with retail and lifestyle brands. I’m passionate about finding creative solutions to visual obstacles and helping brands achieve a distinct and recognizable presence among competitors.
Yep, that’s me! I’m a passionate graphic designer with a lifelong love for design. After earning my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, I launched my career in marketing in New York City, where I gained invaluable experience collaborating with a talented team. However, I found myself drawn to design, creating projects that sparked joy and creativity within me. The vibrant art scene of the city continually inspired my work.
This passion led me to start my own jewelry business, Bowery Laine, where I immersed myself in the competitive market as a solo entrepreneur. Designing graphic elements—like my logo, marketing materials, and website—was incredibly fulfilling, further deepening my love for design.
When the pandemic hit, my business faced significant challenges, but it was during this time that I rediscovered my purpose through design. Seeking to enhance my skills, I enrolled in the Professional Program in Graphic Design at UC Berkeley. This experience was transformative; I engaged in courses that refined my abilities and prepared me for the industry. I received constructive feedback from industry professionals, which helped me grow as a designer.
Since graduating, I have been working as a freelancer, but in 2023, I faced a significant challenge when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I took a break to focus on my health, but I’m happy to share that I am now in full remission and back to work. I’m currently seeking new opportunities to further my career in graphic design, excited to bring my creativity and passion to a new team!
